I specialize in human-centric storytelling: commercial photography, event documentation, portraits, short-form video production and bespoke image licensing. I'm driven by a genuine interest in other people, and a belief in the compelling nature of real life stories and characters.
20 years! My first paid gig was for The Eastlake Edge. I’ve been a journalism nerd ever since. I got my BA from Northeastern University in Boston, moved to Portland in 2012, and founded my LLC in late 2017. In 2020, I opened my photo studio at the corner of Clinton St and SE 25th Ave. My clients include Travel Portland, Nike, Pacific Northwest College of Art, the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, Vetsource, New Avenues for Youth, CNN and the University of Oregon.
Photography clients receive an edited, curated, shareable gallery of images within one week. Videography clients receive a color-corrected and scored film within one month.
Yes, I’m open to your specific timeline, but if I have to cancel my trip to the beach, it’ll cost ya.
Quality images are made when the photographer builds a respectful rapport with their subject. I work to minimize the amount of technology on set, to better center this relationship.
My main camera is a Nikon Z8 with either a 24-70mm f/2.8 or a 50mm f/1.2 lens, depending on the application. I also use a Fujifilm X100F for parties, candid portraits and street photography.
I'm increasingly fond of my DJI Osmos Pocket 3 for its portability and unintimidating nature.
In my studio, I light people and products with LED softboxes. My backdrops are cloth, with additional art supplies applied liberally.
Clients are quoted a production fee. Paying this fee locks down our shoot dates.
For photography clients, the production fee includes a certain number of high-resolution JPEG downloads. The client always gets to pick their favorites from a fully-edited, shareable gallery.
Additional downloads, rounds of revision and printed products are available to purchase as needed. Project terms are always outlined by written contract, and agreed to by both parties.
Invoices are delivered via Wave. I accept debit and credit cards, ACH transfers, checks, Venmo, tangible cash money or gold-pressed latinum.
Commissioned work includes a lifetime, nonexclusive license to share and use the downloaded materials across print and digital, including commercially, with no additional licensing fees.
Licensing clients may purchase limited distribution licenses, unlimited use licenses, or exclusive usage rights, depending on their need, for a term of up to five years.
Yes, my image galleries offer beautiful, on-demand printed products from independent labs around the country, mailed to your door. These purchases directly support my practice.
Definitely! With art direction assistance as you need it, or none at all.
Production fees are nonrefundable but shoots may be rescheduled an unlimited number of times within one calendar year. I humbly request at least 48 hours notice, thank you!
