Oregon Spends $10M Reinvesting in Community Justice

judge alycia kersey being interviewed at Tayas Yawks in Klamath Falls, Oregon

I just got back from the Bay, where I was producing another video for the Northwest Health Foundation. I can't wait to get editing, and share it with you all!

What makes them wonderful partners is their steadfast committment to community wellbeing. It's science: when people are treated with compassion, and provided a healthy foundation on which to grow their ideas, we all collectively benefit.

Something really special about our campaign documenting the $10 million Justice Reinvestment Equity Program is that we got to shine a spotlight on the network of community organizations and skilled care professionals who make up our social safety net. All the people who fill in the gaps between the systems we have and the democratic socialism we deserve.

I got to meet wonderful people at Tayas Yawks in Klamath Falls, LifeArt in Medford and WomenFirst here in Portland -- along with elected officials like Judge Kersey.

You can hear the care they bring to their work. The love that informs their approach.

Here's what the folks at NWHF had to say:

"Nick has been a pleasure to work with! We highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a thoughtful, passionate, and skilled videographer."

I believe deeply in the power of authentic, emotions-forward media to communicate an organization's values, and to illuminate the network of caring professionals working together to keep our communities safe.

Hope today finds you well, and resourced.
